Production Department Supervisor

Production Department Supervisor will be involved with:

  • Leading, supporting and developing a team to achieve departmental objectives.
  • Planning daily workloads and making effective use of people, equipment and resources.
  • Monitoring production progress and addressing issues that could affect delivery.
  • Maintaining high standards of Health, Safety, Quality and Housekeeping.
  • Managing attendance, timekeeping and performance fairly and consistently.
  • Identifying training needs and supporting the recruitment and induction of new employees.
  • Maintaining accurate records and communicating clear priorities and progress updates.
  • Working closely with colleagues across the business to resolve day-to-day production issues.
  • Identifying practical improvements and ensuring agreed actions are completed on time.
  • Promoting a positive working environment and encouraging employees to take pride in their work.

Essential knowledge, skills & experience:

  • Experience of working within a manufacturing, engineering or similar production environment.
  • Experience of leading, supervising or supporting a team.
  • Good leadership and communication skills.
  • Good organisational skills with the ability to plan workloads and manage competing priorities.
  • A practical approach to resolving day-to-day production problems.
  • Ability to lead by example and take responsibility.
  • Ability to maintain consistent standards and address concerns constructively.
  • Ability to work effectively with colleagues across different areas of the business.

Preferred knowledge, skills & experience:

  • Previous experience working as a Production Supervisor, Team Leader or similar position.
  • Experience within an aerospace engineering or precision manufacturing environment, is helpful but not compulsory.
  • Knowledge of Health, Safety and Quality requirements within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience of continuous improvement or lean manufacturing techniques.
  • Experience of training, developing or mentoring employees.
