Toolmaker - Loughborough

Main duties and responsibilities:
Required to make various Jigs and Fixtures for our machining, inspection and assembling departments. The machines used are conventional milling machines and surface grinders where you be working from engineering drawings, sketches or models, working to +/- thou tolerances.

Requirements:
Ideally, time served apprentice.
Working experience of Manual Milling.
Proven experience of working to tight tolerances.
Conversant with Engineering drawings.
Desirable experience with manual surface grinding.

 


Furnace Operator (nights) – Loughborough

Main duties and responsibilities:
To operate machines and fabricate components.
Good communication skills.
An excellent eye for detail.
Ability to work within strict procedures and processes.
Comfortable working in a traditional, production environment.
Previous engineering experience would be an advantage, but not essential.

Main duties and responsibilities:
Liaising with Project Engineers in the Quality Aspects of New Product Development.
Performing Advanced Quality Planning along with the Risk Management of Product Introduction.
Writing and Implementing Quality Plans for Production Readiness
Performing Physical Component Proving.
Component Verification to Customer Supplied Drawings and Specification.
Analysing and Problem Solving Non-conforming Items.

Requirements:
Good leadership skills and a good communicator.
Experience of working to the Quality Management Standard ISO9001.
Experience of working in a New Product Introduction environment.
Working knowledge and experience of APQP & PPAP.
Experience and working knowledge of problem-solving techniques.

Quality Inspector – Loughborough

Main duties and responsibilities:
Visual and 1st off inspection of parts for hole size/position, defects, burrs and surface finish.
Manual checks of components using standard measuring equipment.
Ensure that all parts are released to the correct standard.

Requirements:
Strong attention to detail.
Experience in a similar role is required.
Basic understanding of technical drawings and specifications
Knowledge of measuring tools: vernier callipers and height gauges.
Ability to follow instructions from Route Card.

 


CNC Laser Operator / Welder – Coalville

Main duties and responsibilities:
Setting, operating and part-programming CNC Lasers (CO2)
Visual and manual inspection of components.

Requirements:
Minimum 1 year of CNC Laser experience.
Laser welding experience (desirable - training will be provided).
Knowledge of Trumpf controls (desirable - training will be provided).
Capable of reading technical drawings.
Experienced at working to close tolerances.
Use of various measuring equipment.
Good communication skills.
An excellent eye for detail.
Ability to work within strict procedures and processes.

CMM Programmer / Operator - Loughborough

Main duties and responsibilities:
Responsible for the setup and completion of work carried out on the CMM & Multi-Sensor CMM
Use inspection tools such as shadow graphs, verniper callipers and micrometres.
The use of MCOSMOS, PC-Dmis & OGP software, you will be required to program these machines, set the datum’s and conduct the inspection compiling all relevant documentation such as; First Article Inspection Reports.

Requirements:
Experience of programming and operating Mitutoyo/PC-Dmis/OGP CMM.
Excellent understanding of drawings, dimensions and tolerance.
A minimum of two years experience in programming complex geometry.
Offline programming experience would be an advantage but not essential.
Knowledge of MSA Requirements.
Must be able to work on your own initiative in a busy engineering environment.
Good communication skills.
Experience of working in the Aerospace Industry would be an advantage but not essential.

The aim is to remove burrs and imperfections to achieve the desired surface finish.
Conscientious with an eye for detail to produce reliable consistent quality.
Good with hands – dexterous.
Patience and persistence are required for this role.

Requirements:

Minimum 3 years TIG welding experience.
Experience of welding stainless steel.
Experience of working in the Aerospace industry would be an advantage but not essential.

Assembly of low-pressure turbine seal segment using resistance spot welding.

Requirements:
Strong assembly skills.

Source Inspector – Loughborough

Main duties and responsibilities:
To perform final release and inspection of components on behalf of the customer, working to relevant customer specifications and requirements.
This includes but is not exhaustive: - Incoming material certificates/All work documentation is correct/Visually check the components (Dimensionally check %) /Prepare all documentation for release to the customer.

Requirements:
Preferably have experience in an Inspection/Quality Control environment.
Must be comfortable using a computer and relevant applications.
Must be able to communicate with other departments in a professional and efficient manner when required.
Must be able to read, interpret and understand engineering drawings.
Must be able to dimensionally inspect parts using Digital / Analogue measuring equipment.
Must be able to follow written instructions and procedures.
To be focused, organised and have high attention to detail.
Must be able to keep a tidy work area and maintain paperwork to factory procedure.

 


Health, Safety & Environmental Officer

Main duties and responsibilities:

Working with the current Health & Safety Officer and the Health & Safety Reps to maintain and improve our current work practices.
Introduce environmental policy and practices and achieve ISO 14001 accreditation.
Help support the team of department Health & Safety representatives, also communicating changes and developments to laws and regulations.
Working within the company procedures and standards.
Monitoring and reviewing policies and procedures to ensure their effectiveness and implementing new protective and preventative measures as required by law.
Responsible for identifying and preparing risk assessments and COSHH assessments and ensuring effective communication across the business.
Investigate and record incidents, accidents, complaints, and cases of ill health and take responsibility for any follow up actions.
Establish a full program of documented health & safety inspections, audits, and checks.
Maintain the program of employee health surveillance.
Set up and implement hazardous waste, wastewater or toxin management programs.
Oversee and review health and safety documentation, policies and data.
Coordinate safety and environmental audits and implement improvements.
Reporting to a Director with regular progress reports.

Requirements:

Minimum 5+ years’ experience in the relevant field
Qualifications of NEBOSH General or equivalent
Experience of working with ISO 14001
Experience working within a manufacturing company
Environmental qualifications beneficial but not essential
High levels of competence in Microsoft Office and general computer skills

Highly complex multi-tool set ups.
Accurately setting jigs, fixtures and tools.
Running First Off components.

Manual checks of components using standard measuring equipment.
Creation of prismatic CNC programmes.
NPI development assistance.
Optimisation of feeds and speeds.

Previous experience on multi axis machining centres.
Mill/turn capability is an advantage.
