The Role:
- Perform grinding, deburring, polishing, and edge-finishing of precision components using hand tools, rotary tools, fixed machinery, bench grinders and polishers.
- Remove sharp edges, burrs, and excess material while maintaining dimensional accuracy and surface integrity.
- Interpret and follow engineering drawings, work instructions, and quality standards.
- Inspect finished parts visually and with measuring equipment (e.g., micrometers, callipers, gauges) to verify tolerances and finishes.
- Handle small parts carefully to prevent damage, contamination, or quality defects.
- Ensure adherence to aerospace and company-specific quality requirements, including AS9100/ISO standards.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work environment in line with health & safety regulations.
- Report any non-conformance or defects promptly to the supervisor or quality team.
- Assist with continuous improvement initiatives and support lean manufacturing practices.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in grinding, deburring, or finishing
- Good manual dexterity and attention to detail when handling delicate parts.
- Experience in assembly and fabrication preferred
- Machining experience also helpful.
- Quality and visual inspection
- Experience in using hand tools and power tools.
- An excellent eye for detail to meet Quality performance expectations.
- Able to work in an organised and methodical manner.
- Able to adhere to job instruction sheets and route cards.
- Capable of working as part of a team but also independently.
- Good communication skills.
- Aerospace industry experience would be an advantage.
- Commitment to quality and Health, Safety and Environmental compliance.
