Main duties and responsibilities:
You will be working as part of a small team. This team is responsible for all aspects of Special Process substantiation. You will be working with metallurgical evaluation of welding, brazing, heat treating, and non-conventional machining samples.
Duties would include:
- Co-ordination and administration of Welder Qualifications for the company to international standard (AWS D17.1 etc.)
- Preparation of Laboratory specimens to customer specifications
- Metallurgical evaluation of test pieces along with the creation and (eventual) approval of laboratory reports
- Preparation, assessment and recording of special process manufacturing batch test pieces
- Review & interpretation of customer and industry specifications for metallurgical test requirements
- Preparation of metallurgical reports
- Use of Hardness (Vickers), Tensile Testing and Metallurgical microscope equipment
- Involvement in Nadcap audits that involve Metallurgical Lab activities
- Laboratory Administration activities
Additional Role:
- Creation of Data Card & First Article Inspection documentation for customer approval
- Quality department administration activities.
- Conducting the daily spot check type internal quality audits.
- Providing documented audit evidence detail such as audit reports, checklists, NCRs, etc
- As part of the Quality Engineering Team, responsible for the completion of tasks as requested by Preci-Spark Management.
- Health, safety and environment compliance.
- Upon a successful interview, Preci Spark’s application process requests that a basic criminal record may be carried out.
Essential knowledge, skills & experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgical engineering or equivalent
- 3-5 years of experience working in a laboratory
- Good communication skills
- Good analytical ability and interpersonal skills
- Experience of working to AS9100 and/or ISO9001
- Experience working in a New Product Introduction environment
- Experience in working with one or more Aerospace OEM requirements
- Good fluency in the English language
