The Role:
The Security Officer will have overall responsibility for security arrangements across all Preci-Spark UK locations. While IT and cyber security remain under the remit of the IT function, this role requires a strong understanding of cyber risk and information security in order to work effectively alongside IT Managers and support the wider business in maintaining a robust security posture.
The role is highly collaborative and will work in partnership with Operations, IT, HR, Facilities, Supply Chain, and Senior Management.
Key Responsibilities:
Physical & Operational Security
- Overall responsibility for physical and procedural security across all UK sites
- Develop, implement, and maintain security policies, procedures, and standards
- Oversee access control, CCTV, alarms, key management, and guarding arrangements
- Lead investigations into security incidents, breaches, or losses
- Health, Safety and Environment compliance
- Upon a successful interview, Preci Spark’s application process requests that a basic criminal record may be carried out
Supply Chain Security & Compliance
- Ensure full compliance with CTPAT requirements across the business
- Act as the lead contact for all CTPAT-related matters, audits, and assessments
- Conduct security risk assessments and site reviews, implementing corrective actions
- Support customer security questionnaires, audits, and regulatory inspections
Cyber Awareness & Collaboration
- Maintain a strong working knowledge of cyber and information security risks
- Work closely with IT Managers to ensure alignment between physical and cyber security controls
- Support cyber security awareness initiatives and incident coordination where required
- Contribute to joined-up incident response planning alongside IT and senior management
Business Collaboration & Leadership
- Act as the primary point of contact for all non-IT security matters
- Work closely with Operations, IT, HR, Facilities, Supply Chain, and site leadership
- Manage relationships with external security providers and relevant authorities
- Provide security guidance and awareness training to employees and managers
- Advise senior management on security risks, trends, and mitigation strategies
Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience in a security management or security officer role across multiple sites
- Strong knowledge of physical security, risk management, and incident response
- Good working knowledge of cyber and information security principles
- Demonstrable experience with CTPAT compliance (essential)
- Experience working cross-functionally with IT, Operations, and senior stakeholders
- Strong communication, influencing, and report-writing skills
- High levels of integrity, discretion, and professionalism
- Willingness to travel regularly across UK sites
- GDPR Management
Desirable:
- Security or risk management qualifications
- Experience in manufacturing, engineering, or industrial environments
- Exposure to supply chain or information security frameworks
